Local Information

Podere Cavargine is a few minutes from the village of San Giovanni D'Asso, world famous for its valuable white truffles and lying in a mystical region between the undulating Crete Senesi ( Siena clay region) and the Val D'Orcia, a land of thermal springs and steaming pools, many dating back to the medieval period and even the Etruscans. While the locality is well placed to visit Siena, Florence, Perugia, Arezzo, Cortona or even Rome - one and a half hours drive to the south - there are many beautiful small towns, villages and spas in the region that can be enjoyed without the crowds and coaches of other Tuscan destinations. Of particular note in the area are Pienza, San Quirico, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Bagno Vignoni and Monte Oliveto.

Travel details: Nearest airports are Florence (1hour 30 minutes), Pisa (2 hours) and Rome (2 hours plus). Nearest train station is Chuisi (40 minutes).
